HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY MASON ALLAN!

Sometimes people walk in to you life just when you need it most. That was certainly the case with you, Mason Allan.

When I met your daddy, I knew that part of falling in love with him was making up a whole lot more room in my heart for you and your sister. That was the easy part; loving you three comes so easily. The hard part, though? Watching you grow more and more every day knowing that time isn’t going to slow down; that these moments won’t last forever.

Today, you’re 4, and goodness, the past three years that I’ve been a part of your life has been have been the very best. I’m so thankful that I get the opportunity to watch you grow, watch you learn, and being able to be a part of it all. I never knew how much I needed a little boy in my life, until you came along. You light up my life, our life, and we adore you so! To the moon and back, buddy boy!

AUGUST 2021; OUR MONTH IN VIDEO

August was full of more birthdays, mini getaways, and football games. Here’s a peek at our month and the life I’ve thankful for.

JUNE 2021; OUR MONTH IN VIDEO

Happy June ya’all!

This month was full of celebrations between Father’s Day and birthdays, backyard adventures, and bringing home our new Winnie girl.

Here’s a look at our month; hope you enjoy!

February 2021; a video of our month.

another month in to the new year and i still can’t get over how fast time is flying by. i love making these quick video collages of our month because with time passing so quickly, i forever want to these memories to look back at.

take a look at our month and see what we’ve been up to as a family of 6.

january 2021, in photos.

we are somehow a whole month into the new year. a lot has changed and a lot hasn’t, but i still have more hope for 2021 than I did for 2020.

with few words, here’s our month in photos.

we got a new bed! we’ve been keeping an eye out for a bed we both liked and for a good deal. wayfair had some great deals after the new year and we both really liked this one. now to work on some artwork ideas we had for above the bed.

john and i went on a small getaway to madison. we explored the city a bit and went iceskating on the lake. for not being regular iceskaters, neither of us fell and i was pretty impressed. the views were beautiful at the edgewater and a place i can see us visiting every year.

my momma turned the big 5-0 this month and kayla, dad, and i surprised her with a birthday card “shower.” if you haven’t heard what that is, you can read a little bit more about it here. she was so surprised! i’m glad that we found a way to still make her feel special since covid didn’t make it an ideal time to throw her a big party.

i’ve always wanted to go into trader joe’s and explore all that they have, but unfortunately the closest one to us is over an hour drive. one day we just decided to make a quick day trip out of it and went prepared with a list of items we wanted to try. i may have found a new found love; i just wish there was one closer! interested in seeing what we picked up? i’m debating on doing a “haul” soon, so keep an eye out for that.

the last few photos are just some of my favorites from the month; capturing our everyday moments around the house as a family of 6.

cheers to another great month!

a photo journal – our june thus far

June is here and it is FLYING by. The good weather has arrived along with more orders to stay working from home. It’s a whole new normal around here, but truthfully I’m loving be able to stay home and spend the extra time with our family.

We’ve tried spending as much time as possible outside, soaking up the sun and avoiding going stir-crazy. I’m so glad that if COVID had to happen, it’s not when it’s freezing outside and we’re forced to remain indoors.

John and I visited my parents at the campground and spent a few hours floating down the river on kayaks with dad. It was John’s first time out on a kayak and he managed not to fall out…winning. We’re already excited to go back out; we can already picture how much Mason would love to go too.

The time we’ve spent inside, we’ve made the best of it. Lots of crafts, family movies, and giggles. All the extra time together is certainly not something I’m complaining about.

Mason got his very own John Deere gator powerwheel and it was the perfect surprise. He LOVES it and is so proud to show off his “tractor”. The girls take turns with it too and they all enjoy having Mazi girl ride around in the back.

All three of our girls learned how to ride a bike without training wheels (thanks babe!) and are super proud. We got them new bikes and our driveway has been a bike track lately. People driving by probably thinking we’re running a day care over here.

John’s birthday is this month so we spent time with family celebrating over the weekend. It was nice to have everyone here together. We ordered pizzas, had some tacos, and lots of yummy dessert. The weather outside was really great too so we spent a lot of time visiting while the kids all got to play.

I just wanted to share a bit of what we’ve been up to this month; hope all of you had enjoyed June as much as we have! ‘Til next time!

around our house: quarantine 2020.

this blog has always been a space for me to share the beauty of our family’s moments, whether if it’s from the view of the city streets or the comfort of my couch. a place for me to document all of life’s adventures, and this year has been quite the adventure thus far.

no words are needed for this post, but just photos of some of our every day moments around the house while in quarantine.

it may be a crazy time in the world right now, but i am so thankful for all this extra time we’ve been able to spend together, as a family.

gardening with my girls

if anyone knows mahkena, they know how much she loves plants and growing things just like her momma. she’s been asking for a while when we can grow another garden, so she was super ecstatic when i told her it was time to go pick out some seeds, and our other two girls were excited to join in on the fun.

we made a quick trip to walmart to pick-up a few supplies. this was easily the girls’ favorite part; they enjoyed picking out their own vegetables to grow.

they eached picked up a few packets of seeds…carrots, peppers, peas, green beans, tomatoes. because it’s currently too cold outside, we picked up some pots to plant them in and keep indoors until we can move them outside. while were there we also grabbed some soil and plant label stakes.

once we got back home, each of the girls helped pour the soil in to each of their pots, planted their seeds, and topped them with some water. a fun little project that i hope they’ll be proud of once they see their seeds starting to sprout.

july snapshots.

i thought the summer was never going to get here, and now that it’s here, it’s almost already gone. summer is f l y i n g!

this month was busy with making new memories and here are just a few photos i took to capture my july.

this year’s 4th of july included lots of water fights and giggles.
time to thin out and re-pot on of mahkena’s succulents. this one she knew exactly who she wanted to give it to.
pops trusted us with his baby for a few days while he went on vacation.
the girls ended their yearly fundraiser and donated over $800! beyond proud of them.
big mama still as sassy as ever.
lots of time by the blowup pools this month.
and as always, working so hard.
