Can you believe that we’re a third of the way through 2023 already? We’ve had a busy first few months of birthdays, getaways, and just every day life. It’s been a bit since I’ve blogged, so I wanted to share with all of you just a little bit of what we’ve been up to.
Ringing in the New Year!
The girls were with their dad this New Year’s Eve, so we just had the two littles to celebrate bringing in the New Year. We decided last minute to reserve a room at a newer local hotel for a small getaway. We spent the day swimming and enjoying the hot tub.
We spent the rest of the night in the room playing board games and watching the ball drop. What a fun way to end 2022!
Cupid’s Bingo!
The girl’s school hosted a fun Cupid-themed Bingo for families to attend. Even though none of us girls won, it was a fun little way to have some time with my girls!
Celebrating Valentine’s Day!
John and I celebrated Valentine’s Day this year locally with a stay at the beautiful Embassy Suites Rockford Riverfront hotel. We took advantage of the great amenities and enjoyed the gorgeous views of the city from our room.
Mahkena’s 11th Birthday!
We had a small party with family to celebrate Mahkena turning 11! Our sassy little peanut is growing so fast!
To continue the celebration, Mahkena and I had a mother-daughter day filled with lunch and lots of shopping, followed by a spa night at home with Johnathon. This was our third year of this tradition and I can’t tell you how amazing it is to have a man that steps in and does anything to just make your girl smile, even if that involves foot and face masks.
Monster Trucks Live with Mason!
Once we saw that Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live was coming to town, John and I knew we had to take Mason. The show didn’t disappoint and we really enjoyed the one-on-one time with our little guy.
We’ve had such a great start to 2023 and can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store!
