to be honest, this post is long overdue. we completed our master bedroom reno project months ago, but were waiting on a few more furniture pieces to be truly complete. but let’s be honest, i love re-arranging and new decor, so i’m sure it will always be changing up.
the main reason we wanted to do a renovation was because of the color. the walls were a tan-ish color and the trim was in need of some serious love. we wanted to change the color to a light grey to brighten the room and accent it with white trim. it took MULTIPLE coats to get the trim a bright white, but once it was done we loved the contrast with the gray walls.
rather than buying a new stand for below our tv, i diy’ed our old entertainment stand from the living room. with a bit of sanding and a bright white color painted on, the result was exactly was what i was hoping for. i love that we decided to keep the old color on the top; it gives it more of a “rustic feel” and makes the white stand out.
we both love the color purple so we knew from the very begining that we wanted to accent with purple. we bought some new curtains for the sliding door to our balcony and a purple comforter to match.
the decor in our room is absolutely my favorite. we added a lot of white floating shelves, customized prints we ordered online, and some art that i painted.
lastly, we needed a new bed. we searched for a few weeks but came across this one on wayfair and love how it matches everything. i’ll be working on some sketches soon to frame and add above the bed.
this was the last photo that i have of our “new” room; since then we’ve added a few plants. our plan this spring/summer is to re-paint the deck outside our balcony and add some outdoor furniture.
